Landscape

Get your gardens looking good again! Pull out all of the weeds and trim back the shrubs. When you plant new flowers in the ground spreading mulch as the top layer helps keep the soil moist and hydrated. You can set up a timed watering system if you don't want to think about watering your plants all summer long. To prevent bugs, if you notice any standing water in your yard, you'll want to remove it.

Pool

For all of the pool owners out there you're going to want to listen up. Swimming in your pool is one of the best ways to cool off all summer long, so you want to make sure it's chemically balanced and safe to swim in. Test the levels weekly and run the pool pump daily so that the water is being refreshed and cleaned. Your pool will be so sparkly and inviting that you won't be able to resist diving in.

Air Conditioner

If you're lucky enough to have air conditioning in your house it's a good idea to make sure it's in good working condition before the sweltering night comes when you desperately need it. You won't want to end up in a hot and sticky situation searching around for someone to come fix it. Turn the A/C on and let it run for at least 30 minutes. Play around with it by slowly adjusting the temperature and make sure it's working properly. Be sure to clean the air conditioning unit, the vents, and the area around it so that the air is flowing freely.

Mold

When the temperatures rise and the humidity increases this makes the perfect climate for mold to grow. This pesty substance is not just displeasing to look at but it's harmful to whatever part of your home it's growing on. If you have air conditioning, one tip is to keep it on AUTO. This will make sure that your home stays at a cool temperature even when you aren't home.
